But parts 1 + 3 of the tutorial should be identical. You will need to work out how to setup a "virtual machine" in azure, but there are ubuntu ones available, similar to the process I described here using EC2.Jason Friedmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15285914571366155789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5230722504806933143.post-78259909448710948852014-04-28T15:05:41.947+10:002014-04-28T15:05:41.947+10:00Jason would you be kind enough to highlight the ba...Jason would you be kind enough to highlight the basic changes that i will have to make to adapt this solution to Windows Azure Cloud?
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12224786722389592340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5230722504806933143.post-57115358960162615622012-07-14T07:04:51.239+10:002012-07-14T07:04:51.239+10:00I solved it. So first we need to install these on the instance. I am a little bit confused that what are those codes and is it like the windows command?

By the way, I launched a windows server instance, followed the instruction, I have already connected to the instance and logged in as administrator. Is that necessary to use the puTTY?

Thanks a lot.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03727753703192169744noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5230722504806933143.post-23085814338771953162012-07-12T19:38:44.097+10:002012-07-12T19:38:44.097+10:00No, you don't need to install Matlab, but you ...No, you don't need to install Matlab, but you do need to install the Matlab MCR (which you can put on another computer without needing another license). The details of how to install it are in part two of the tutorial, about half way down:

http://noisyaccumulation.blogspot.com/2010/12/using-amazon-ec2-to-speed-up-matlab_22.htmlJason Friedmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15285914571366155789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5230722504806933143.post-66699657787134362842012-07-12T13:11:07.020+10:002012-07-12T13:11:07.020+10:00Hi Jason, thanks for the tutorial.

Do you install a matlab on the Amazon ec2 to run your compiled code?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03727753703192169744noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5230722504806933143.post-19997378715435888802012-02-26T23:23:54.340+11:002012-02-26T23:23:54.340+11:00Yes, it sounds like you will need to compile mex f...Yes, it sounds like you will need to compile mex files for your computer (probably linux). This is easy to do, the msocket toolbox comes with a script "compileit" which will do this for you.Jason Friedmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15285914571366155789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5230722504806933143.post-84428590336983169272012-02-25T08:33:16.782+11:002012-02-25T08:33:16.782+11:00I'm trying to adapt this solution to be deploy...I'm trying to adapt this solution to be deployed on my universities super computer.

When I try to run this as compiled code I get an error saying mlisten is undefined. I realize this is part of the msocket toolbox you mentioned, which I have downloaded. To make this work do I have to use the matlab compiler to compile all of the msocket code individually? Or is there an easier way to make this work?Sethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07766869271949655115noreply@blogger.com
